Michael passed away on January 17, 2012 in Whistler, BC. Michael was born and raised in Red Deer and moved to Vancouver 7 years ago to assist in looking after his niece with leukemia, and then to Whistler to pursue his career as a DJ. He is the beloved son of Lech and Nancy Grefner of Red Deer, beloved brother of Katherine Grefner (Barry Deley) of Langley, BC, and Margaret LaGrange (Damian LaGrange) of Red Deer. He was a loving uncle to Eden, Joseph and Angelise Deley, and DJ, Gabe, Jonas, Lucas and Evan LaGrange.
He leaves countless friends throughout Alberta and BC where he established himself as a popular and talented DJ, as well as throughout the world – many of whom came to help in the search for Michael in the Whistler and Vancouver areas. They are a great comfort to the family.
